The pair have been spotted in Gloucestershire a number of times recently, sparking rumours that they are eyeing up a new "Beckingham Palace".
Amberley House has emerged as the frontrunner and is suitably grand for one of the highest-profile couples.

The manor house, which dates back to 1640, is set on nine hectares of Cotswold countryside and has six bedrooms and six reception rooms.

The Beckhams are the talk of the area after they were photographed in nearby Nailsworth. They have also been spotted in Stroud.

Jane Bandy, landlady of the nearby Amberley Inn, said: "The fact that they were seen in Nailsworth adds fuel to the fire. They have not popped in for a pint just yet though."

Another villager added: "Everyone's talking about it - it is quite a place and they have been seen around this area."

The Grade II Listed house was at the centre of a planning dispute between plastic surgeon Mark Harrison, who was told by Stroud District Council and the Planning Inspectorate to put right several alterations earlier this year.

Imported panelling, limed doors, spotlights and dry lining had to be removed.

On top of the luxury accommodation, the manor home boasts an infinity swimming pool and tennis court, a two-bedroom lodge and pool house, and stables, a riding school and a horse walker.

Anthony Coaker, from Savills, which is marketing the property, could not comment on who might buy the property but admitted there has been plenty of interest from far and wide.

The Beckhams are currently renting in London while their $48 million (about R627-million) West London home is renovated.
