We Warned Buhari Not To Appoint Her... She Must Resign – APC, el-Rufai

Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna said President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Aisha Alhassan as a minister despite complaints by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

El-Rufai lambasted the Minister of Women Affairs for being disloyal to the President, adding that she was never a Buhari supporter but a loyalist of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.
The governor claimed Alhassan did not also vote for Buhari during the APC presidential primary.

Also, the national working committee (NWC) of the APC has called for her resignation.

A member of the NWC and national vice chairman, northwest zone, Inuwa Abdukadir, called for the resignation of Alhassan on Friday in Abuja while speaking with journalists.

He also attacked former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, describing him as a liar and blackmailer.

The party chieftain described Atiku’s comments about President Buhari and APC as misleading.

On his part, el-Rufai who spoke with State House reporters at the Villa on Friday, however, said her retention or otherwise as a cabinet minister should be at the discretion of the President.

After Declaring Support For Atiku, Madam Alhassan Accused of Spending FG's N12m To Inspect "Ghost Projects"

Payments totalling N11,700, 000 were made by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to enable Minister, Aisha Alhassan, and some other staff members to embark on ‘familiarisation visits’ to unnamed skill acquisition centres in selected states in 2015, a report from the Auditor-General’s office has revealed.

This is coming after she visited Aso Rock following her support for Atiku.

According to the report, part of the funds was spent on November 11, 2015, the day the minister was officially sworn-in.
The report which contains observations made on the underlying accounting records of ministries, departments and other agencies of government, is the latest from the Auditor-General’s office.

According to the report, an “audit investigation established that the purported acclaimed appraisal visits to skill acquisition centres were never undertaken.”

Details of the report further show irregularities in payment processes, record keeping and dating of the said visits.

According to PT, the audit committee observed that: ‘‘all the attached receipts for fuelling did not indicate quantity in litres, the rate per litre, dates of purchase and vehicle number of the fuelled vehicles.

"The International hotel receipt of 23/11/15 which was issued for the hiring of a mini-bus from a hotel to unnamed project sites rendered the receipts doubtful.

”Hiring of cars to Project Sites at ridiculous rates of between N75,000.00 and N77,000.00 for two days as appeared on receipts numbers 910 of 22/11/15, 107 of 24/11/15, 0416 of 27/11/15, 531 of 25/11/15, is contrary to exercise of the due economy in line with the provision of Financial Regulation 415.

More worrisome is the date which appeared on some of the receipts. Reports of the investigation by the audit committee revealed that part of the expenses for the verification visits was made on the day Mrs. Alhassan was sworn in.

”Receipt number 5206 of 11/11/2015, the date the Minister was sworn in by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and receipt number 11622 of 8th of November, 2015 with amount N100,000.00 respectively are not clear. The two receipts were for servicing of a vehicle two times within 3 days,’’ the report noted.

Following these irregularities and in the absence of any justifiable defence, the Auditor-General has mandated the ministry to refund the N11,700,000 to the federation account.

Looks like there will be tough days ahead for Mama Taraba.

The move aims to resolve the lingering dispute between the Federal Government, BFIG and United Company RUSAL through the mediation of the Secretariat with the active collaboration of the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development.

The council advised that “the mediation efforts should take a holistic view of the entire sector and the overriding national interests to jumpstart industrial development through the steel sector in arriving at a resolution on the matter.”

At the meeting, under the chairmanship of Prof. Osinbajo, SAN, the council reviewed the proposals presented by its Secretariat, the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) for the reform and restructuring of various sectors of the economy.

The council also approved the immediate revocation of the concession of the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, and the immediate commencement of a fresh privatisation of Yola Electricity Distribution Company.

These approvals were aimed at giving traction to key infrastructure facilities in the country that are presently under concessions but have been adjudged to be performing sub-optimally.

Love: I Don’t Have Time For Girlfriends – Anthony Joshua

Nigerian-British boxing champion, Anthony Joshua has revealed that he sacrificed some important personal activities in order to remain on top of his career in boxing. Some of the things he had to put off include issues of love and marriage.

Joshua revealed to the London Evening Standard that his training regime doesn’t leave ‘much time for girlfriends’, while also suggesting that he may not settle down until the next 10 years.
“If people can ride with me for the next 10 to 12 years I would really appreciate it, but if they can’t foresee the future I’d rather they jump off the boat because I can’t stop for no one right now,” he said at the launch of his mobile service Voxi.

“I was speaking to my coach, who worked with [British former world champion] Carl Froch who had a 12-year career. One day it does finish and now he has all the time in the world to think about business, family. Not everyone likes the decisions I make but I’ve got to make my own decisions. Decisions I make impact others.

“And my time training means there is not much time for girlfriends either.”

Since his 2013 pro debut, Joshua has won all of his 19 fights by knockouts. He unified the IBF and WBA belts in April after beating the former champion, Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium.

Unexpected! Pastor Attacked By A Mad Man He Was Trying To Deliver

Even the disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ could not heal a particular child, the dad approached Jesus and he healed the child. Jesus then made the disciples understand that all issues are not attended to with the same pattern - this one you need [serious] fasting and prayer.
According to a source, this incident happened in Lokoja, Kogi State capital. The pastor tried his faith with a random mad man on the street, and while at it the mad man grabbed him.

It took a while before the pastor could free himself from the madman. Sigh!
