Music star 2Baba is currently in Milan as he works on a new project. Thou, as of the time of this report, the project is unnamed. The only information gathered about his new project is a post on his social media page referring to “Mr. Senator”.


The music star just wrapped up recording “The Voice Nigeria” which ended on Sunday and he took a flight to Milan straight from South Africa.

2Baba kept things easy for his day out rocking an all-black ensemble and a red snapback.

ISIS APPOINT BOKO HARAM SPOKEMAN AS NEW LEADER

The Islamic State, popularly known as ISIS, has announced a new leader for the insurgent group, Boko Haram.


The group (ISIS) has named Abu Musab al-Barnawi, who has be a spokesman for Boko Haram, as the new leader replacing Abubakar Shekau.

Mr. al-Barnawi is featured in the latest issue of an ISIS magazine, the BBC has reported.
The magazine makes no reference to Mr. Shekau.

The eccentric Mr. Shekau was last seen in a Boko Haram propaganda video in March 2015, one of many footages released in his years of leading a brutal campaign against the Nigerian state.

In one of the videos, Shekau pledged allegiance to ISIS, which was originally based in Syria and Iraq. ISIS has several offshoots now in other countries including Libya.

Mr. Shekau took over as Boko Haram leader after the group’s founder, Muhammad Yusuf, died in police custody in July 2009.
Boko Haram became more deadly and radicalized under his leadership.

Federal Government sacks JAMB registrar, appoints ex-UNILORIN VC

President Muhammadu Buhari has relieved Dibu Ojerinde, a professor, of his appointment as the registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).


Bem Goong, deputy director of press at the ministry of education, disclosed this in a statement, saying Ishaq Oloyede, a former vice-chancellor (VC) of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), had been appointed the new registrar of the board.

Goong said 16 chief executive officers of parastatals and agencies under the ministry of education had also been replaced.

He listed the new CEOs and their agencies as:

Abubakar Rasheed, National Universities Commission (NUC)

Lilian Salami, Nigerian Institute For Educational Planning and Administration

Hameed Bobboyi, Universal Basic Education Board

Lanre Aina, National Library of Nigeria.

Charles Uwakwe, National Examination Council (NECO)

Abba Haladu, National Commission For Mass Literacy, Adult And Non-Formal Education

Bashir Usman, Nomadic Education Commission

JAMB withdraws 2016 admissions Posting list, asks candidates not to panic

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has withdrawn the list of posted candidates for 2016/2017 admission which they have sent various tertiary institutions across the nation.


The spokesman of the board, Fabian Benjamin disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday 31 of July.

“This is to ensure that the University Senate body perform its responsibility of conducting the selection of candidates and refer it to JAMB for confirmation in line with the admission criteria of merit, catchment and educationally disadvantaged states as directed by the Hon Minister of Education at the policy committee meeting,” the statement read.

“The earlier list was sent to help fast track the process of admission so as to allow other tiers of institutions also conduct their admission".

“Candidates should not panic because this is part of the process of the 2016 admission exercise. JAMB regrets any inconvenience this decision would have caused the tertiary institutions.

“The board regrets any inconvenience it’s proactive step would have caused the tertiary institutions,” He said.

Mixed Reactions As Naira falls again, now N380 to dollar

The Nigeria currency, popular naira has on Monday depreciated further against the dollar at the parallel market.


The currency exchange rate is at N380 to one dollar, from N378 which was traded on Friday, while it exchanged against the Pound Sterling and the Euro at N495 and N415, respectively.

At the Bureau De Change segment of the market, the currency exchanged at N378 for the dollar, N490 for the Pound and N413 against the Euro.

It, however, appreciated at the interbank segment as it closed at N316.37 from N319.70 it posted on Friday.
Meanwhile, traders at the market said that the scarcity of the greenback was stifling activities at the market.

They urged the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to intervene in the foreign exchange market to ensure greater stability of the naira.

Some citizen of Nigeria reacted, one anonymous said "this govt.believes they are in power to protect Nigeria and not Nigerians. Can we have Nigeria without the citizens? Nothing whatsoever is being done to ameliorate the suffering of the Nigerian people. No more subsidy on fuel, prices of kerosine and diesel have skyrocketed. They say forex market is liberalized but the govt still control the supply side. There is also the unfair tax system. Whose interest is the govt protecting, Nigeria or Nigerians"?

While another said "This is God’s punishment for a sinful nation that prefers lies to truth. Anyone who is expecting things to change for the better had better think twice. Unless this clueless government is voted out, things might not get better for us".

IJAW LEADERS PLEADED TO US NOT TO DECLARE NIGER DELTA REPUBLIC – MILITANTS

 

One member  Adaka Boro Avengers, a member of  Niger Delta militant groups, said it's group has cancelled its planned declaration of a Niger Delta Republic yesterday (August 1) after appeals from leaders of Ijaw, including ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, E. K. Clark, and others, PUNCH reports.

According to him, the group reiterated its mission to cripple the nation’s economy until the federal government is ready to dialogue with the group and restructure the Nation.

They also use this medium to called on the Federal Government to "stop wasting their time with those greedy fellows that call themselves Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND)".

Their direct statement read :

We adhere to the voice of our people, because our struggle is for the Niger Delta people and not for selfish reason. But this is not the end. More has yet to come. Our mission to cripple the economy of the Nigerian nation will not stop until the Nigerian government is ready to sit on a roundtable to dialogue and to restructure Nigeria.

We received calls from prominent leaders like Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, E. K. Clark, Ankio Briggs, and especially King Alfred Diete Spiff calling on the freedom fighters to abort their mission to declare Niger Delta Republic.

Unless that, we will not stop until Nigeria becomes a zero economy. We are also saying this for the benefit of President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerian government to stop wasting their time with those greedy fellows that call themselves MEND because nothing good will come out of them rather than sabotage.

Everything they are saying, not even one will be accomplished. We will never agree with anything they say and henceforth MEND should watch their backs because we have tolerated them for a very long time.

Enough is enough, since they want to set confusion in the Niger Delta we will start from them.
